This past weekend I had an opportunity to attend an Adult Easter Egg Hunt at Fero Vineyards & Winery with some friends. We were on our way home to Pennsylvania when I got the news that this was happening and I quickly bought my ticket, which was only $10! 10 minutes after buying my ticket, Fero announced they had sold out! Finding out that this event had sold out, made me more excited that this egg hunt was going to be a blast. Even though, I had no idea what an adult Easter egg hunt even consisted of.
As we arrived to Fero Vineyards & Winery in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, we saw the numerous cars pulling in. Stepping out of our car, we got the smell of tacos from the Taco truck parked out front. We followed the music to the pavilion where they were accepting our tickets. We grabbed our wrist bands and our tasting glasses and headed straight to the winery and gift shop to try some of their wines.
My favorite type of wine is sweet. The sweeter the better and Fero definitley made my taste buds very happy. The one I’ve been raving about ever since is their Chocolate wine with hints of tobacco and coffee. Of course I bought a bottle. I also ended up buying a bottle of the Concord to drink leading up to the egg hunt which I carried throughout the entire event. As did many others. If you don’t like sweet wine – they have plenty of dry whites and reds, semi sweets, and more all from their vineyard right out back.
As they announced the egg hunt was about to take place, we all lined up outside at the edge of the vineyard. Eggs were visible strewn about the tall vines and on the ground. As soon as they said, “GO!” – we raced through the vineyard picking up all the eggs that we could. This lasted maybe 2 minutes before all the eggs were accounted for.
We got back to our table outside to dig through our baskets. I picked up 8 eggs and opened each one filled with candy and coupons. I received a coupon for the taco truck and the wine shop. Both of which I used of course!
As the event came to an end – we grabbed some beer at their bar inside the winery and then sat in the pavilion to listen to the band. Here is where they announced the raffle winners. Sadly, we weren’t one of the winners – but they were giving away bottles of their fine wine!
In conclusion: I hope to attend this event in the future or another one just like it. For being a small PA winery, they put together an event that ran incredibly smooth for the couple hundred people that attended. The weather and location was absolutely beautiful. Their wines were nothing less than amazing (especially the Chocolate or Concord wine). It was a great place to hang out to listen to music or at their bar and I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you Fero!
